METRO WATER DISTRICT is seeking candidates to fill a Network Administrator position. The ideal candidate must exercise independent judgment, professionalism, initiative, and be highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team.

Qualifications and Experience:
Under general direction of the CFO, provides hardware and software support to Information Technology (IT) users, and performs maintenance functions for the District’s IT systems and specialized team systems.  Work includes basic programming, system analysis and design specification, user training and assistance, quality assurance testing, verification of adherence to standards, technical documentation and tracking of workflow.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:

·  Provides technical assistance to staff; analyzes problems and implements solutions; provides technical support, analysis, and training in the use of computers and peripheral devices.

· Provides server backups by installing, configuring and maintaining backup software; troubleshooting and resolving issues with backing up server; configures backup schedule for server environment and verifies all servers are being backed up successfully; and tests and verifies server backups can be restored successfully.

·  Preserves information security by maintaining patch levels for all operating systems by approving and installing updates regularly.

·  Implements, orders, installs, and configures new/updated computers, servers, and Network upgrades, software and hardware for computers, printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, phones, tablets, security fobs, drives, switches, tablets, cell phones, etc. including maintain a stock of equipment, consumable, and other IT supplies.

· Trouble-shoots computers to isolate and diagnose system problems; analyzes computer and peripherals’ functionality; identifies, locates, resolves and repairs problems.

· Maintains licenses, subscriptions, services, and updates LastPass with password changes, equipment changes, license and agreement changes, process and procedure changes.
·    Maintains the active directory.

The successful candidate must have an Bachelor’s Degree in computer Science, and three (3) years of computer experience, including computer hardware and software support work experience; OR and equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range for this position is $56,971 - $78,423.

POSITION:                            Civil Engineer

SALARY RANGE:              $71,864 - $111,001

CLOSING DATE:                April 24, 2019


  • Under general supervision of the Engineering Manager, this position performs civil engineering work of considerable difficulty involving planning, design, project management and construction administration; and performs related work as required.  Supports District teams and related activities. 


  • Prepare designs, drawings, plans, cost estimates, specifications and technical reports for various construction and improvement projects.
  • Provide field investigation and inspection of construction sites as part of engineering assignments.
  • Determine scope of engineering projects; prepare Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and contracts for consulting services; review proposals, plans and specifications prepared by consulting engineers; and assist and recommend the development of technical criteria and standards for use on District projects.
  • Plan, develop and implement engineering projects related to the Capital Improvement Program.
  • Administer contracts by verifying invoices and pay requests, reviewing change orders, amendments and shop drawings, conduct progress meetings, and review reports on contractor’s performance.
  • Investigate/prepare reports and develop cost estimates of a complex nature in connection with various engineering projects.
  • Provide relevant subject matter expertise and technical support to the Utility Team.
  • Build, maintain, update and utilize computerized hydraulic models (both steady-state and transient/surge models) as a design tool, a medium and long range planning tool, and as a reference tool to address inquiries from the  public, contractors, outside engineers and designers, and District staff regarding expected water pressure and fire flow availability.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or closely related field and four years of paraprofessional civil engineering experience. 
  • Arizona EIT not possessing an Arizona PE at the time of hire will be class as a Senior Engineering Associate and must obtain a PE within one year from date of hire.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona.
